Services
“When we heal the mothers, we heal the world.”
Born to Bloom provides Maternal Health and Infant Development services with a special expertise in supporting families with premature and medically complex babies. We are based in Memphis, TN and provide services within the home setting.
Maternal Health and Well-Being
A Maternal Health Occupational Therapist focuses on Matrescense, the process of becoming a mother-from pre-conception, pregnancy into postpartum and beyond. This time period is transformative from an emotional, physical and practical standpoint and affects the mother’s every day functions and activities. A Maternal Health OT can evaluate, assess and intervene to optimize functioning in the mother and baby.

In this 4 week series you will learn massage techniques for the face, chest, stomach, back, arms, and legs as well as techniques to help relieve gas and colic and promote sleep. This class is a great way to meet other moms and bond with your baby postpartum. We also include a little development support throughout as well.

NICU specific education and support
Libby has worked as an Occupational Therapist in three different NICU’s over 5 years ranging from a smaller Level 2 regional NICU to a Level 4 Trauma NICU. She has experience treating medically complex babies including but not limited to: various genetic syndromes, ventilation/oxygen needs (BPD), Trisomy/deletion disorders, complex cardiac diagnoses, post surgical precautions, myelomeningocele etc. Libby is passionate about supporting NICU parents in their roles as Mom and Dad during this often tumultuous and uncertain time and empowering families with the knowledge and support to safely and confidently transition baby home at discharge. Infant Program Development
Are you an educator or administrator looking to integrate more development specific content and support into your early childhood program? Libby is a pediatric/NICU OT and also a mom and here to help. Infant Development should be proactive and holistic- and outside of baby’s parental unit, educators are the next most important people in a baby’s life. If infant programs are developmentally proactive and educators are supported with the knowledge, babies and families thrive.
